The NFL kicker Matt Prater, who recently made history by becoming the oldest player in Buffalo Bills franchise history, was raised by supportive parents, Stacy Prater and John Prater.
While Matt’s career has earned him national recognition for his record-breaking kicks, his parents also have notable backgrounds of their own.
His mother, Stacy Prater, has been associated with the entertainment industry, appearing in projects such as 42 (2013), Nashville (2012), and Redneck Rehab (2012).
Stacy works in television and film showcases the creative side of the Prater family, although she has largely stayed out of the public spotlight beyond her appearances.
As per her IMDb profile, she worked as a medic in one episode of Redneck Rehab, and for Nashville, she served as a set and construction medic for 19 episodes.
On the other hand, his father, John Prater, is a British author and illustrator best known for his colorful and whimsical picture books for children.
Over the years, he has created a vibrant universe of cozy bears, mischievous kids, and playful stories, often praised for their humor and warmth.
Not only has he created illustrations for children’s books, but he has also been involved in art exhibitions, including collaborations with the ArtWave Festival, where his work was featured.
While he is not widely recognized, those who know John’s work admire him and often seek to learn from his artistic approach.
Despite having a modest number of followers on Instagram, John shares much of his artwork and exhibition updates, reflecting his dedication to his craft.
While His Parents Pursue Art, NFL Kicker Matt Prater Now Rises as the Oldest Player in the Buffalo Bills!
Matt Prater has made history by becoming the oldest player in Buffalo Bills franchise history, surpassing quarterback Bill Munson, who was 38 when he played in 1979.
The Bills signed Matt Prater after their longtime kicker Tyler Bass was placed on injured reserve due to a hip/groin injury.
In his first game with the Buffalo Bills, Prater made two significant field goals. The first was a 25-yarder, his first points of the season for the team.

Then, just before halftime, he kicked a 43-yard field goal to reduce the Ravens’ lead and give the Bills some momentum.
While Matt is making history as an NFL kicker, both of his parents appear to share a strong artistic pursuit and involvement in the creative field.
