Dustin Lance Black is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and advocate for LGBT rights who was born on June 10, 1974.
Black went to the University of California, Los Angeles. There he studied School of Theater, Film, and Television and graduated with honors in 1996.
He came out as gay in his senior year in college. The couple first met sometime around 2013, this was before Tom came out as gay.
Tom did it via a youtube video, and he claimed that he was dating a man at the time whose name he did not reveal.
It was only at an event at Battersea Power Station in May 2014 that the couple finally came out together as a couple and revealed Tom’s mysterious lover.
Then about a year later, in 2015, the couple decided that it was time to take things further and got engaged.
The couple got married in May 2017 at the five-star golf resort in the Dartmoor national park.
The venue was 30 miles from Plymouth, Devon, where Tom was raised, and just 50 close friends and family members attended.

Lance Black: Controversy & Trial Update
The life of Lance Black has not been “sunshine and rainbows” as he is preparing his defense for a trial in court on August 8, 2023.
He is set to face trial after allegedly assaulting Teddy Edwards. Edwards is a BBC host and also the organizer of the party where the altercation supposedly took place.
Edwards claims that Black threw “an entire drink” at him without any provocation. He also adds that he did not have a drink to throw back, or it would have been violent.
Black had to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court in London, which he did by video link.
He pled not guilty to the charge of assault by beating and is now awaiting his trial.
Apparently, Tom Daley was also beside his husband during the altercation. Edwards claims that he just dropped by to say hello to the pair before the altercation started.
