His Girlfriend Nancy Argentino’s Murder Charges

On May 10, 1983, only hours after defeating José Estrada during a WWF television taping at the Lehigh County Agricultural Hall in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Snuka requested an ambulance.

When emergency workers arrived at his room in George Washington Motor Lodge, they discovered that his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, had been hurt.

Allentown’s Sacred Heart Medical Center took her in, but she succumbed shortly after from “undetermined craniocerebral injuries.”

On September 1, 2015, 32 years after the incident, Snuka was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter for Argentino’s death.

But, on November 2, 2015, Snuka pleaded not guilty before Judge Kelly Banach. On June 1, 2016, Banach decided that Snuka was not mentally competent to stand trial for murder.

So, his advocates argued that his health would not improve with time, yet a fresh hearing would be conducted six months later to re-evaluate his competency.

On January 3, 2017, Banach dropped the charges, ruling that Snuka was mentally ill to stand trial.
