Jim McElwain And His Wife Karen McElwain
Jim McElwain and his wife first met at Eastern Washington University. The couple started seeing each other when Jim was a graduate assistant at Eastern Washington.
After dating for four years, the couple decided to tie the knot in 1988. It is said that Jim gave his wife Karen an article on the life of coaches’ wives before finally popping the question.
Since then, the couple have been happily married and are the proud parents of their three children: one son, Jerret McElwain, and two daughters, Elizabeth and Johanna McElwain.
Karen has shown great support towards Jim and his career. In one of the interviews, Jim also talks about how his wife has been a crucial part of his success.
Jim stated, “I’m only successful because of her. She’s been with me along the way. She cares about the kids that we coach and the people in these families that are involved in our organization and keeping all that together.”
Karen is also affectionately known as “Mama Mac,” as she makes it a priority to provide a mother’s support to the team.
Jim McElwain Talks About The Michigan Sign-Stealing Investigation
Central Michigan coach Jim McElwain addresses the situation on the viral photo that seems to show Michigan football staff member Connor Stalions in Chippewas coaching gear on the sideline during a game against Michigan State.
Currently, Stalions is under NCAA investigation for potential off-campus scouting and sign-stealing violations.
McElwain confirmed the university’s investigation but didn’t mention Stalions by name, referring to him as “the sign-stealer guy.”
He says, “Our people are doing everything they can to get to the bottom of it. I certainly don’t condone it in any way, shape or form. I do know that his name was on none of the passes that were let out. We’ll just keep tracing it back, and tracing it back. And try to figure it out.”
