In the 2006 NBA Draft, the Grizzlies drafted Kyle with the 24th overall pick.
Kyle played in 10 games as a rookie before breaking his wrist on November 21, 2006, against the Cavaliers.
Lowry was acquired by the Houston Rockets on February 19, 2009, as part of a three-team trade that involved the Memphis Grizzlies and the Orlando Magic.
The Rockets offered a qualifying offer with his contract about to expire on June 30, 2010. This offer made Lowry a restricted-free agent.
On July 11, 2012, the Raptors acquired Kyle Lowry. This trade saw Gary Forbes and a future first-round pick go to the opposing team.
On August 6, 2021, the Miami Heat acquired Kyle Lowry via a sign-and-trade deal with the Toronto Raptors in exchange for former teammate Goran Dragić and Precious Achiuwa. This move came after Kyle had spent ten successful seasons with the Raptors.
