Arjun Nimmala was born to his parents, Balu Nimmala and Neru Nimmala, in Tampa, Florida.
Arjun Nimmala’s parents made the life-changing decision to relocate from India to the USA.
Recognizing the similarities between baseball and cricket, he wholeheartedly encouraged Arjun to embrace the game and pursue his passion for it.
Arjun Nimmala is an American shortstop who played high school at Strawberry Crest High School.
He was drafted by the Blue Jays as the 20th overall pick of the 2023 MLB draft, joining fellow draftees Paul Skenes, Dylan Crews, Max Clark & Wyatt Langford.
Arjun broke barriers by becoming the first first-generation Indian-American to be drafted this high in any of the four major sports.

During his high school at Strawberry Crest, Nimmala verbally committed to Florida State in his freshman year and was named the Florida Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior.
Arjun Nimmala Parents: Balu And Neeru Nimmala
Arjun Nimmala was born to Balu and Neeru Nimmala on October 16, 2005.
Balu and Neru married in 2002 and moved from Andhra Pradesh, India, to the United States the same year, seeking new opportunities and a better life for their family.
Arjun’s athleticism comes from his parents. His father, Balu, competed in track & field, cricket, and baseball, while his mother, Neeru, was a volleyball and basketball player.
The question is how Arjun, coming from Indian descent, got into baseball. Arjun’s father wanted his son to play a game similar to cricket, a sport popular in their homeland.
Balu discovered baseball and recognized its similarities to cricket. He saw great potential in Arjun and encouraged him to join a local baseball league.
Growing up in Tampa, the Nimmala house was a playground for the boys, and their garage was all filled with holes.
Later, the 18-year-old athlete dedicated himself to learning the intricacies of baseball and honing his skills.
Through the support of his parents, brother, and his own dedication, Arjun found a passion for baseball, which became a significant part of his life.
Besides, his girlfriend, Kira Mcclard, has also been an integral part of his life.
Kira, who was a member of the cheerleading team at Strawberry Crest High School, has been supporting Arjun through his high school career and now as he embarks on his professional career.
