Chad Scott and Shambrica Jones’s story began on the courts and fields of the University of Kentucky, where an athlete found an athlete.
Chad played football, and Shambrica played basketball. Their world of shared dedication and sport became the foundation for a lifelong partnership.
Today, they are the proud parents of a daughter, Kori, and a son, Jakobe. Jakobe is following in his mother’s footsteps on the basketball court.

Chad wasn’t joking.
After coaching stops at Troy and Texas Tech, the former Wildcat running back was offered a position on new head coach Mark Stoops’ staff.
Chad and Shambrica returning to Lexington felt like a homecoming they never thought possible.
She said, ‘Let me go call somebody.’ What do you mean you’re going to go call somebody to find out? I’m telling you. There’s nobody to call.

Once Shambrica believed him, her excitement took over.
She was ecstatic and told him to go ahead to Kentucky while she handled moving everything.
After years away, the Scott family was coming back to where their story began, making a shared dream a wonderful reality.
It was a dream job for me. When people asked where I wanted to end up, I always said I’d like to end up where it all started for me – Kentucky. I loved it here. That’s why I chose to come here. I came a long ways from Florida to come here (for college). My wife continued her career here and graduated from here, so it was a dream job for me. When the opportunity came, and the phone call happened, it was a no-brainer.
