Who Are Bernadette And David Evans? Dan Evans Parents

This article was last updated by on

Dan Evans’ parents, Bernadette and David Evans, always believed their son to become a tennis star. His dad and mum do not have a sports background.

So, it was Dan who developed a love for the racquet game himself. Since leaving his home at age 12, Dan has reached several heights as a tennis player.

In 2017, Evans achieved the milestone of becoming the top-ranked British player and currently holds the second position, just behind Cameron Norrie. However, he has had a challenging start to 2023.

Although he reached the semi-finals of the Barcelona Open, he was eliminated by Carlos Alcaraz. As he enters the Italian Open, Evans will aim to go the distance and secure a victory.

Dan Evans’ parents, Bernadette and David Evans, raised three kids in Birmingham, England.

The couple had no history with the sport. Dan is the first one in their family to pursue tennis professionally. A rebellious kid, Dan’s mother, Bernadette, never thought her son would achieve the success he has today.

Bernadette, a semi-retired nurse at the time, talked to The Daily Mail about her son’s childhood and what got him into tennis. Evans was never interested in studies, resulting in only 3 GCSES.

At 12, Dan decided to leave home and pursue his tennis career. He became a student at the Lawn Tennis Association Centre of Excellence in Loughborough, Leicestershire, where he resided with a local family during that time.

His father, David Evans, an electrical contractor, was against his son’s choice. But couldn’t refuse it later on. The Evans family made several sacrifices to fulfill their son’s dream of becoming a tennis star.

During an interview with The Daily Mail, when Evans had reached the fourth round of the Australian Open in 2017, his family shared their thoughts.

Bernadette Evans described her son’s performance as “OK,” indicating moderate satisfaction with his achievements at that tournament stage.

Since then, Dan has gone on to become British No. 1 and also has a title to his name. He might also have received more than an “OK” from his mother.

Dan Evans Girlfriend, Aleah

Dan Evans’ girlfriend, Aleah, stuck with him during the most tumultuous time of his life.

In 2017, Evans was found positive for drug use, leading him to be banned for a year. And during that dark phase, Aleah helped him become stronger on the other side.

Aleah isn’t active on social media, and Dan hasn’t shared any pictures of them. Since meeting for the first time in 2017, Aleah has been cheering for the Bristh ace in several tennis tournaments.

Last year, Aleah was pictured watching her boyfriend at All England Club from the stands. So we can expect her to arrive in Wimbledon this year as well.

In 2022, it was reported that the couple resided together in Cheltenham. Until 2017, the British tennis player lived with his parents in Birmingham.
