Ella Toone isn’t married and doesn’t have a husband. But she has a boyfriend, a soccer player named Joe Bunney. They have been together for a year.

The Manchester natives met in Manchester, introduced by a mutual friend at a party.

The media only happened to know about them when they were seen celebrating England’s Euro success in Ibiza.

Ella, 24, a born-and-bred Manchester United fan, returned to the club in 2018 after spells at City and Blackburn Rovers.

She became an overnight star after scoring a crucial goal in the quarter-finals of Euro 2022 against Spain.

The United striker opened the scoring in the finals against Germany, with Chloe Kelly later scoring the winning goal. With her teammates, Alex Greenwood, Lucy Bronze, and Alessia Russo, Ella hopes to win back-to-back international trophies.

If the Lionesses win the prestigious Women’s World Cup in Down Under, it’ll be their first World Cup glory. They stand first in their group, having beaten both Denmark and Haiti.

Ella Toone Husband: Is She Married To Partner Joe Bunney?

Ella Toone and her partner Joe Bunney are yet to become a married couple. Joe was revealed to be Ella’s boyfriend last year in August after she won the Euros with the national side.

After winning the Euros, Ella was pictured loved up with her beau, Joe Bunney enjoying their holiday in Ibiza. This was the first time the couple was seen together in public, with Ella previously keeping her relationship a secret.

A source close to the couple even told the British tabloid, The Sun, they had been dating for a while and were very much in love. The Manchester natives, Ella and Joe, were introduced through mutual friends and have been dating for a year.

The couple became Instagram official in September 2022, with Ella sharing a series of pictures of them to wish Joe his 29th birthday. Bunney did the same on Ella’s birthday, sharing a video compilation of them at concerts and of their best moments together.

Last year, the two walked the red carpet of the Pride of Britain ceremony together, with Joe even cheering for his girl from the crowd as the Lionesses were handed The Inspiration Award.

The couple is regularly seen at each other’s soccer games, with Ella attending the Liverpool Senior Cup final earlier this year.

Ella Toone Partner Joe Bunney Plays For Stalybridge Celtic

Joe Bunney, born September 26, 1993, plays as a left-back for Stalybridge Celtic and is their team captain.

He has made 200 league appearances and has played for several sides since debuting in 2012 with Lancaster City. He played for Rochdale FC for five years before heading to Northampton FC.

In 2022, Bunney joined Macclesfield FC from Rylands FC and was twice loaned, the first being with Ashton United and later with Marine FC.

After winning the Liverpool Senior Cup final with Marine, Joe returned to Macclesfield and will start the 2023 season with Stalybridge Celtic.

He has made 135 appearances in League One, with most being with Rochdale, and has scored 17 goals in his career and has assisted 26.

When it comes to supporting a soccer team, Ella and Joe are divided and support each other’s arch-rivals. A Manchester United fan and a player, Ella has Joe, a Manchester City supporter, as her partner.

In an interview with The Times, Joe said that was the only thing they didn’t have in common. The two also shared a quick banter during the interview, as Ella said they don’t speak during derby day.

Joe gave a cheeky reply saying she doesn’t speak to him as City usually wins.

Joe Is Her Penalty Coach

In their interview, Ella also mentioned Joe loves giving her advice about penalty kicks.

The England soccer star said she hadn’t missed a single penalty in her career before meeting Joe. But since she began dating him, Ella had missed two penalties, one against Aston Villa and the other against Brazil.

The striker said Joe began giving her advice after her miss against Brazil and even said she was the worst penalty-taker ever. He went on and on about how she should improve her penalty skills.

But Joe wasn’t all talks as he stepped up to take the penalty against Runcorn Linnets and scored. And instead of celebrating with his teammates, Joe ran towards Ella and said, “Told you.”

The Stalybridge Celtic captain has a simple theory when it comes to penalties. He believes it’s best to smash the ball down the middle because the keeper has to dive anyway.

So, maybe Ella can use her man’s technique if the time comes during the World Cup. And we are sure she wouldn’t hear the end of it if the penalty guides her team to glory.
