Emily Fox’s parents, Alex and Leslie Fox, do not come from a sporting background. But Alex and Leslie have raised two athletic girls, one representing her country at the highest level since 2018.
The full-back of USWNT, Emily Fox, always had the hunger to prove her doubters wrong. When someone questioned whether she was only good at the state level, she showed them she could take on some of the best in the world.
Emily has started in both games in the ongoing Women’s World Cup. With Crystal Dunn, Emily has formed a strong partnership in the flanks and was a problematic duo against the Netherlands.
But Alex Morgan’s team had to settle for a draw salvaged by Lindsey Horan’s header. USWNT has been favored to lift the World Cup and create history by winning the prestigious three times in a row.
Emily Fox Parents, Alex, And Leslie Fox
Emily Fox’s parents, Alex and Leslie Fox, raised three kids in Ashburn, Virginia.
The soccer parents, Alex and Leslie, had always supported their daughter’s soccer dreams. They would travel to all of her games, and in one such game, Leslie Fox had heard a parent call her daughter “Virginia Good.”
That certainly didn’t sit well with Leslie Fox, but instead of Leslie replying to that parent, her daughter did it. And that too in some style. Emily was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2021 NWSL Draft.
But three years before the draft, Emily had been called up by USWNT when she was still in college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The North Carolina Courage player Emily Fox shares a strong bond with her mother, Leslie Fox, a school librarian. In an interview with Ashburn Magazine, Leslie said her daughter would at times be affected by people’s comments on her playing style.
Emily would constantly ask her mom whether her only skill set was that she was fast. But Leslie always told her daughter to believe in herself. Leslie is available on Instagram with the username @lesliefox2122 and has shared a handful of posts with each post being of her family.
Alex Fox Is A Computer Engineer
The father of three, Alex Fox, is the Chief Growth Officer at HawkEye 360 and has been working with the company for four years.
Alex graduated from Georgia Tech with a computer science degree in 1986 and worked in their research institute until 1988. Fox then joined GeoEye as a Vice-President of Engineering.
He worked at GeoEye for 18 years and earned his Master’s in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. Alex left GeoEye in 2006 to join Northrop Grumman as a Geospatial Programs Executive.
Alex has worked with many other top companies in the US, including Harris Corporation and IBM. At one point, he was also the President of AJF Consulting and Vice-President at DigitalGlobe.
Alex is available on Facebook but doesn’t seem to be an active social media user. He has shared one post, a family photo dating back to 2013.
Emily Fox Has Two Younger Siblings
Emily Fox is the oldest of three siblings. She has two younger siblings, Garrett and Lauren Fox.
Her brother, Garrett Fox, currently serves as Army National Guard and has remained away from the public limelight. He is available on Instagram but has kept his handle private.
Emily’s younger sister, Lauren Fox, is a student at Longwood University and has followed in her sister’s footsteps. But she has chosen softball as her career and not soccer like Emily.
At Stone Bridge High School, Lauren Fox excelled in softball and basketball, and in 2019 was selected as a 1st Team All-State outfielder.
In freshman year, Lauren played 37 games with a batting average of.253 and a slugging percentage of .304. She was later named to the Big South Freshman team.
Her stats dropped in 2022, but the number of games played increased as Lauren starred in 58 games. In junior year, Lauren started in 34 games and was named in the Big South Second-Team All-Conference.
Lauren is available on Instagram with the username @laurennefoxx and like her brother, keeps her handle private.
