The class of 2025 infielder Ethan Holliday is following in the footsteps of his dad and brother.

Despite still being in high school, he is already making waves in the baseball world.

Ethan Holliday, born February 23, 2007, is considered one of the top prospects of the 2025 class.

Despite his young age, he already boasts an impressive height of 6 feet 4 inches.

Furthermore, he has represented on international stages, playing for the U-15 National team.

He won gold at the 2022 WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup, played in nine games, and was named to the All-World Team as a shortstop.

Currently enrolled at Stillwater High School, Ethan has verbally committed to Oklahoma State, following in his brother’s footsteps.

Regarding his personal life, he is currently in a relationship with Mary O’Neil.

Ethan Holliday’s father is none other than the baseball legend Matt Holliday, whom he considers his inspiration.

In an interview, Ethan shared advice he received from his father,

“Follow the process, stay true to your plan, and approach it with a lot of passion and heart.”

Matt Holliday, born on January 15, 1980, enjoyed a successful career as an outfielder and designated hitter in Major League Baseball (MLB) for fifteen seasons.

Making his MLB debut with the Colorado Rockies in 2004, he played with them until the middle of the 2008 season.

Holliday then joined the Oakland Athletics for the latter part of the 2009 season.

The seven-time All-Star was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2009, where he became a key player for several years.

He played a significant role in the Cardinals’ success, contributing to their 2011 World Series championship.

After leaving the Cardinals, Matt Holliday had brief stints with the New York Yankees and the Colorado Rockies before retiring from professional baseball.

He won four Silver Slugger Awards and received awards like the 2007 NL batting champion and the 2007 NL RBI leader.

Family Members

Matt Holliday and his wife Leslee exchanged vows on December 30, 2000. Their paths first crossed during a blind date in 1999 in Stillwater, during the baseball offseason.

A mutual connection brought them together—Matt’s best friend was dating one of Leslee’s friends.

Proposing a double date, Leslee’s friend asked if she would accompany Matt. And the rest is history!

The couple takes pride in being devoted parents to their children, often sharing glimpses of their family life through photos on social media.

They are the parents of four children: three sons, Jackson (born December 4, 2003), Ethan (born February 23, 2007), and Reed (born July 24, 2013), and a daughter, Gracyn (born November 7, 2009).

Ethan’s older brother, Jackson Holliday, has made a name for himself as an American professional baseball shortstop within the Baltimore Orioles organization.

The Orioles selected him as the first overall pick in the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.
