Family And Friends Mourn The Loss Of Tyler Lee Stevens
Genie Reese, an Assistant Principal at Robert L. Bland Middle School, remembered Tyler as one of her “little guys” from her PE days at Big Elm, a kid who already loved football and had a strong arm even back then.
She mentioned that his sister, Haley Stevens, whom she also taught and described as the sweetest, is sharing ways people can help with Tyler’s funeral costs, support mental health awareness, send photos of Tyler, or offer support to the family.
This is heartbreaking 💔 he was one of my “little guys” who could throw and loved football even back in the day when I was teaching PE at Big Elm.

Fly High Tyler!
A close friend of Tyler, Madeline Garner, shared how excruciating it’s been to lose several friends recently to suicide.
She described the feeling as unbearable and talked about how so many people silently fight their battles every day.
Madeline said Tyler’s death hits her especially hard. He was taken far too young and meant so much to many.
here lately, i have lost my fair share of close friends due to suicide. it is truly such an unbearable feeling. we all have demons that we face everyday, battles that we don’t speak of and constant day to day struggles that take a toll on us mentally and physically until you no longer have any fight left in you. to all my friends out there, you are loved and you matter! you have made an impact on others and this world just by existing. tonight, we lost someone way too young. he was such a sweet soul who everyone loved to be around! you will never be forgotten.
