Geron Christian | Debuted in the 2018 NFL Draft! 

Geron Christian made his debut at the 2018 NFL Draft on April 28, 2018. Moreover, the Washington Redskins picked him at 74 overall in the third round.

Christian was selected as the sixth offensive lineman in the 2018 NFL Draft.

He appeared in two games before being placed on injured reserve on November 13, 2018, due to a damaged medial collateral ligament in Week 10.

The 6 feet 6 inches tall athlete was named the starting left tackle for the 2020 season, replacing Trent Williams, who was traded to the San Francisco 49ers.

Before suffering a knee injury in Week 6, he started the first six games. Geron was placed on injured reserve on November 19, 2020, after missing the following three games.

On May 20, 2021, he was released by the Washington Redskins to bid him farewell. Nevertheless, on May 21, 2021, the Houston Texans claimed him off waivers.

College Career

Before playing as a pro, Christian enrolled at the University of Louisville in 2015. Furthermore, he committed to the Louisville Cardinals for overall three seasons as an offensive tackle.

As a student-athlete at Louisville, Christian listed #3 for most offense (544.9 yards) and #11 in scoring offense (38.1 points). He was also ranked the ACC Best Offensive Tackle of the Season for both categories.

In his sophomore career, helping the quarterback continuously Lamar Jackson, he became eligible for Louisville’s first youngest Heisman Trophy winner in the award’s history.

Geron Christian | Contract with the Washington Redskins!

Twenty-five-year-old Geron Christian signed a four-year contract with the Washington Redskins on June 24, 2018.

During such a period, he was having his rookie season while competing in the National Football League (NFL).

Christian had to take leave for eight weeks due to his injuries. Furthermore, he remained on the team’s injured list in the 11th week. But, he was in action for 16 games with two starts for the Redskins in the 2019 season.

Christian made special appearances against NFL teams like Philadelphia Eagles [9/8], Dalhouse Tigers [9/15], and Chile Football National Team [9/23].

Geron had even got a chance to play against the New York Giants. He then showed his real skills with his goal-line offensive tackles and won by 9/29.

Questionable to Return (11th November 2018)

Just after a knee injury just at the beginning of November, everyone was if Christian could be in the match or not, which was against the Buccaneers.

Later, Geron left the game against Tampa Bay in the second half. In this way, Washington enters the Week 10 matchup.

On Sunday’s match with the Buccaneers, Christian suffered more from his pain in the knee, requiring season-ending knee surgery.

Geron was sighted to return to the field after a whole season in 2018. But unfortunately, in that same season, Washington had to lose their three starters.

Lands on IR (12th November 2018)

It was declared Christian to be placed on injured reserve in Week 10 of the 2018 season. Unfortunately, he had to undergo season-ending surgery and is expected to return to the 2019 field.

Training Camp (24th July 2019)

After season-ending surgery, there’s still no timetable to receive full medical clearance. However, it would be surprising to see them in recovery mode to attend training camp as he was limited during OTAs. 

But fortunately, Christian returns with full recovery to start the training camp in July for the season of 2019.

Re-absence on the match against Cowboys (25th October 2020)

Geron Christian could not play a game against the Cowboys on doctor’s prescription but was expected to be back on Week 8 against Giants to play on with Week 9.

Officially Doubtful (6th November 2020)

With a clear confirmation, Christian was unable to play against the Giants. With due reason, Cornelius Lucas had to slot in at left tackle.

For the third-year pro’s return, an official timetable remained disclosed that encourages everyone to hope Christian be back for Week 9.

Ain’t able to fight against Gmen (8th November 2020)

After seeing no improvements on the knee, Geron confirms his inactivation for the matchup against the Giants.

As Christian was already in a doubtful condition, Cornelius Lucas was made to be fully prepared for a consecutive start on Kyle Allen’s blindside.

Still, Christian suited up for his all effort of the offensive snaps for Washington’s outings of the season 2020.

Back to IR (19th November 2020)

As Christian’s knee takes more time to recover fully, it was confirmed to place Christian on IR by the Washington Football Team.

The team was expected to move forward with Morgan Moses at left tackle up until Cornelius Lucas returned from his ankle injury.
