Kateri Poole was born on November 9, 2002, in the Bronx, New York, United States.

She attended South Shore High School in Brooklyn. From an early age, she was a highly-rated Basketball star.  She was a five-star recruit ranked the No. 24 player in her class by ESPN.

Before moving over to LSU, she played two seasons at Ohio State. At Ohio, she was a crucial team member, starting 13 of the first 14 games during her sophomore season.

Commencing that, she was picked up by LSU, where she played a critical role during its National Championship season, playing in 35 games and starting six.

Regarding her personal life, Poole is pretty active on Instagram (@kateripoole). She frequently shares personal as well as professional moments there.

Is Kateri Poole Pregnant?

There has been a strange theory on the internet recently regarding Kateri being pregnant. This came about as fans started speculating the reason for her departure from LSU.

There is no concrete evidence from Kateri’s side regarding this rumor and we can assume that this is only one of those nonsensical internet gossips.

Reason For Leaving LSU

In an update that rocked the college basketball scene, LSU coach Kim Mulkey recently revealed that Kateri Poole had been released from the squad.

“Poole’s no longer with us,” Mulkey told reporters after their 83-53 win over Louisiana. Mulkey would not comment on whether Poole’s departure was a dismissal or mutual parting.

“I’ve been doing this for 40 years,” Mulkey said.

You’re going to deal with stuff. Those kids are like my children and I’m not going to tell you what you don’t need to know, and that’s just the way I address things.”

She is not the first LSU Tigers player to be away from the team. Earlier this season, Angel Reese missed four games and did not travel with the team for an undisclosed reason.

After Reese returned to the team, Mulkey claimed they were dealing with locker room issues, which could also be why Poole was not with the team.

She didn’t go to the Cayman Islands for the Thanksgiving games against Niagara and Virginia.

Poole has not commented on the situation yet, but after not playing due to the coach’s choice and Mulkey discussing locker room issues, that may be the reason for her release.

LSU will miss Poole’s contributions not only on the court but off it as well. She was a crucial part of establishing the team chemistry and was Angel Reese’s best friend.

Reese posted a heartwarming story on her Instagram (@angelreese10) with Poole after the news of her departure.
