Hailing from Pineville, Davis Sr. was a pivotal member of the Golden Bulls squad from 1965-69, contributing significantly in his initial two seasons.

During his freshman year, he showcased his skills by averaging 10.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Davis Sr. continued his stellar performance in his sophomore season, maintaining an average of 11.1 points and 4.1 rebounds until an unfortunate injury cut his campaign short.
