David, Steve’s eldest brother, was a three-time All-American in soccer at Cal State Dominguez Hills. All the siblings – four girls and three boys – were fixtures in local school activities and athletics.

In 2015, Steve and his wife, Stephanie, filed a divorce. The couple had two daughters and a son. Their names are Ashley, Taylor, and Brady. 

Later, he married Loreal Smith, a former collegiate track star and coach. According to her Instagram bio, she is a wardrobe stylist and philanthropist. 

Steve Sarkisian Career

Steve Sarkisian’s athletic career began only after he joined the University of Southern California (USC) in 1992. He was a non-scholarship middle infielder on the Trojans baseball team. 

After a semester, he transferred to El Camino College, where he played shortstop. The athlete earned All-Mission Conference honors and was named a junior college All-American. 

Again, as a junior, Steve transferred to Brigham Young University for the 1995 season. He left school a year early to enter the 1995 NFL Draft. 

Sarkisian opened BYU’s 1996 season and played in WAC Championship Game. He was named WAC Offensive Player of the Year and a second-team All-American. Also, he won the Sammy Baugh Trophy.

The footballer graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 1997. He also received his associate’s degree in general studies from El Camino in 1994.

Furthermore, he played three seasons for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1997 to 1999. 

The athlete began coaching in 2000 when he returned to El Camino College as its quarterbacks coach.

Later, in 2001, he joined USC and moved to Oakland Raiders of the NFL in 2004. Steve returned to USC for the 2005 season with the title of assistant head coach.

In 2009, Sarkisian signed a contract with Washington. The athlete had been on and off with USC all the time. In 2013, he joined USC again as Head Coach.
