After three years at Wayland, J.J. signed with Lithunian-basketball club BC Mazeikiai in 2021 before trade to another Lithunian club BC Šilutė.

For the 2022-23 season, he signed with German Pro B team Rasta Vechta II before promotion to Pro A’s Rasta Vechta.

After playing two seasons for the Timberwolves, he was traded to Memphis Grizzlies on August 25, 2021, with Juancho Hernangómez in exchange for Patrick Beverley.

With the Grizzlies, he scored his then season-high 14 points (with 2 rebounds & 1 assist) in a 110-139 loss against the Celtics.

Moreover, Jarrett Culver secured his NBA playoffs berth for the first-time as the Grizzlies finished first in the Southwest division.
