During his second season at Georgetown, he scored nine points in a 99-75 win against Loyola and collected a career-high six rebounds four times.

Likewise, Benimon played in 61 games throughout two seasons before deciding to transfer. He decided to transfer since he had multiple offers from other colleges.

Later, he enrolled at Townson University and finished his gap year. The Townson assistant’s answer influenced Jerrelle’s decision to transfer since they sent over 100 emails and continually encouraged him to enroll at their college.

Added to that, he was forced to sit out and could not attend the 2011-12 seasons, and for the next season, he was not selected by the All-CAA team too.

Furthermore, during his game against the temple, he recorded 30 points and 18 rebounds. He was honored by Lou Henson Award for being among the top 10 finalists, which was presented to the nation’s major basketball player.

In Jerrelle’s senior year, he showed his skills by leading the team to second place in CAA, although, the team ranked second in the 2014 CAA Tournament.

Benimon gave his best for the team, setting a new record of 404 total rebounds and finishing second in CAA men’s basketball history.

Professional Career

Benimon began his professional career with the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets as he was not drafted in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Moreover, he joined NBA teams for Orlando Summer League and Las Vegas Summer League. He signed with the Nuggets on September 30, 2014, and was waived later next month before debuting in 2014-15 seasons.

He was chosen to the 2015 NBA D-League All-Star Game after finishing his 2014-15 season in a 10-day deal with Utah Jazz on March 6, 2015. After his contract ended, he parted away with the team. 

He appeared in two games for the Jazz before his contract expired, and on April 22, he was selected to the All-Rookie team.

During the 2015-16 season, he joined Cleveland Cavaliers in July and, after 3 months signed with Foshan Dralions.

Similarly, for the 2016 NBA Summer League, he signed with the Brooklyn Nets and then with the Qingdao Doublestar of the Chinese basketball league.

For his 2017-18 seasons, he signed a contract with the Ratiopharm Ulm club in German. He signed a deal with New Zealand Breaker for next season on August 15, 2018, and was released next month.

Lastly, he played for Bnei Herzliya on January 10, 2019. Herzilya is the club that plays in the Israeli Premier League.

Since his last game with Bnei Herzliya in 2019, Benimon is currently unattached to a team and is a free agent, but he will soon be seen on a basketball floor.
