These records and his hard work paid off as it led to Justin being drafted by the Chicago Cubs during the 25th 2009 Major Amateur Draft.

Chicago Cubs

After being drafted by the Chicago Cubs, Justin made his way through the Chicago Cubs minor league organization.

His talents peaked during 2012 games against the Double-A Tennessee Smokies.

Moreover, during the minor league, Bour achieved the name Southern League Postseason All-Star team.

He hit 16 home runs with Smokies but was blocked on the roster for first base by Anthony Rizzo during the second half of the following season.

Miami Marlins

In December 2013, Marlins drafted Bour in the Rule 5 draft. Also, he was called for the major games on June 1, 2014.

He proved his true talents while playing for the Marlins in the 2014 games and performed exceptionally well in the 2015 games.

Justin made the headlines by breaking Shelby Miller’s no-hit bid playing in at the Marlins Park with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning on May 17, 2015.

He also made consecutive home runs in four games straight, from June 30- July 3, 2015, and as a result, became the eighth Marlin in the franchise to ever accomplish the milestone.

The production of 13 home runs and 46 runs by Justin helped balance the power-hitting that the Miami Marlins lost after Giancarlo Stanton’s injury in June.

After his injury, Justin returned to the Marlins at the beginning of August and participated in infield and batting practice.

Since the 15 days disabled leave turned into a 60-day disabled leave for Bour, he did not return to the team until September 6.

2017 Season

Bour had a successful season in 2017 for his Major League career, where he stole a base against the Arizona Diamondbacks, including the second base.

Justin was also invited by the 2017 Home Run Derby to participate in the Home Run Derby games.

He used his famous doughnut power during his home run derby competition and was even given doughnuts by his teammate Stanton.

During the competition, he hit 22 home runs in the first round, setting a record for the fourth-most home runs in that round but was later knocked out by Aaron Judge in the competition, who hit 23 home runs.

Later, he finished the season with 25 home runs and 83 RBIs.

Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies acquired Bour under cash considerations from the Miami Marlins for minor league LHP on August 10,2018.

He was a bench player for the Phillies. After the 2018 season, Bour was put through waivers, removing him from their 40-man roster.

The Philadelphia Phillies did not tender Justin a contract offer, and as a result, he was considered a free agent.
