A serious crash on Highway 27 North just outside of LaFayette took the life of a local high school student on the afternoon of April 15.

The accident happened around 3:45 PM and involved several vehicles, and one flipped over in the northbound lanes. First responders worked quickly, as it appeared someone was trapped inside.

Tragically, 16-year-old Brennon Beavers did not survive the accident.

Brennon was a student at LaFayette High School and a member of the class of 2026.

He was known as a right-handed pitcher, third baseman, and outfielder.

Friends And Family Mourn The Loss Of Brennon Beavers

Brennon is survived by his parents, Monty and Brandy Brown Beavers, and two siblings.

About a year ago in 2024, Brennon’s father, Monty, shared how proud he was of his son’s dedication to the game.

At just 15, Brennon was already offering pitching and hitting lessons to younger players in the community.

He had a strong understanding of baseball fundamentals and was eager to help others improve.

Even with a busy schedule filled with competitive games and workouts, he made time to give back and help younger kids grow in the sport he loved.

Brennon Beavers is a 15 year old sophomore pitcher at LHS. He is looking to provide hitting/pitching lessons for a few kids this summer. He has extensive knowledge of the fundamentals that need to be implemented early on for young pitchers and hitters. He can help your young pitcher outline throwing/ long toss routines. He has proven to help kids become better hitters after the first couple sessions. He has a full slate of competitive baseball and workouts so only a few sessions will be available. Shoot him a message if you are interested.

Many community members shared their memories of Brennon Beavers and his impact on their lives.

One teammate, Hayden Waters, spoke about how even though he wasn’t very close to Brennon, he could tell right away what kind of person he was.

From the first time they met through high school baseball, Brennon stood out as someone easy to talk to and look up to.

Hayden always enjoyed their moments together and looked forward to playing more seasons together and building new memories.

Like many others, he is heartbroken that those memories won’t happen now. Brennon wasn’t just a skilled athlete; he was a genuinely good person who made a strong impression on everyone around him, even in a short amount of time.

My heart and prayers go out to the Beavers family and the others involved. I wasn’t super close with Brennon, but from the very first day I met him through baseball at the high school, I could tell what kind of person he was. I loved talking to Brennon when I had the chance. I know that anyone who knew Brennon could testify that he wasn’t just a talented baseball player but he was a great young man, even in the short time I got to know him, he was someone I truly somone I looked up to. I was excited for the years ahead, to play alongside him and share more memories on and off the field. It hurts me deeply to know that I won’t get to share memories with Brandon in the future.

Hayden Waters
