Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tanner Scott’s season has had its highs and lows, but his two-word mantra (‘F–k it’) shows he’s learning to handle the grind with confidence. Off the field, though, his life with his wife, Maddie, tells a calmer story.
Former San Diego Padres player Tanner Scott shares a happy married life with his wife, Maddy Scott, and together they are blessed with a son.
The Dodgers signed the left-handed pitcher to a four-year contract worth $72 million after his excellent 2024 season, where he finished with a 1.75 ERA in 72 games while playing for the San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins.
He was one of the Dodgers’ big signings last offseason, but so far, the Ohio native has not fully lived up to the contract in Los Angeles.
This season, Scott has a 4.64 ERA and has already blown nine saves – more than in his previous two seasons combined.
Because of these struggles, the Dodgers official changed his mindset. Instead of overthinking, he said he now goes to the mound with a simple “screw it” attitude.
It means pitching more freely and without pressure. He explained that this was always his style, but he had lost it earlier in the season.
Since returning to that approach, Tanner has improved. In his last four appearances against the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies, he did not allow a run.
During those outings, he threw two scoreless innings and lowered his ERA from 5.01 to 4.64. As reported by the Los Angeles Dodgers, this turnaround comes at the right time.
With the bullpen struggling, they need Scott to perform at a high level before the postseason. If he continues like this, he could again be the All-Star-level reliever the Dodgers need in October.
Tanner Scott Married Maddie In November 2021
The baseball player tied the knot with his beautiful spouse, Maddie Scot, on November 8, 2021. The couple dated for a few years before exchanging their marriage vows.
The lovebirds later welcomed their son, Bo Alexander Scott. The athlete’s first child was born on September 26, 2023, at 5:18 pm. The mini version of Tanner Scott weighed 7 lb 13.9 oz and measured 21.1 inches at the time of his birth.
While sharing the precious snap of little Scott, Maddie wrote, “We can’t wait to love on you forever.”
Both Tanner and his wife never miss a chance to express their love and support for one another. The pair has often used social media to do so.
For instance, Maddie wished Tanner on his 31st birthday and shared a picture from their wedding day.
In the caption, the MLB player’s spouse wrote, “Happy 31st birthday to my best friend and the best daddy to our babies 💌 I love doing life with you.”
Similarly, Tanner also marked his lady love’s birthday with a sweet message: “Happy Birthday to Bo & Otis’s Momma! We love you so much! Thank you for everything you do! 🎁🎉🎂”
Moreover, in February 2025, Tanner Scott’s wife shared a photo on her Instagram story as her husband arrived for his first Spring Training with the Dodgers.
The picture showed Tanner with teammate Miguel Rojas, who had his arm around him, helping him feel welcome in his new team.
Tanner wore all black, while Rojas wore a white Kobe Bryant T-shirt and matching sneakers.
Maddie cheered her hubby with just four words: “1st day of school,” playfully comparing Tanner’s first day with the Dodgers to a kid starting school.
Additionally, the family of three never misses a chance to spend quality time together. A quick scroll through their Instagram shows the couple enjoying family trips, fun outings, and everyday moments with their son.
The Scott couple is also supportive of the Catching Hope Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by MLB catcher Will Smith and his wife, Cara, to assist underprivileged children in Los Angeles and Louisville.
