Lucas was born in New York City but spent part of his early years in Geneva, Switzerland, before settling in New Canaan, Connecticut, upon returning to the United States.

Lucas discovered his love for football in New Canaan, starting with the Pop Warner league in third grade.

Despite his proficiency in various sports like tennis, baseball, lacrosse, wrestling, and basketball, football became his passion.

After excelling in high school, Lucas committed to playing college football at TCU.

His talent caught the attention of NFL scouts, leading to his selection by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Lucas faced challenges during his professional football journey, including a period on the reserve/PUP list.

However, he overcame these obstacles and contributed to the Chiefs’ success, earning his first Super Bowl ring when the team emerged victorious in Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Notably, Lucas made history as the first French national to play and win a Super Bowl.

Continuing his success, Lucas secured a second consecutive Super Bowl championship as the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

Lucas Niang was born in New York on August 18, 1998, to his parents Nabi and Fatou Niang.

His mother, Fatou Naing, hailed from Côte d’Ivoire, a country on the southern coast of West Africa, and his Father, Nabi Niang, is from France.

Nabi and Fatou are Lucas’s proud parents and are Lucas’s greatest supporters. They never missed their son’s game and were seen in Super Bowl LVIII, where they supported their son’s team.

Super Bowl is one of the annual league championship games of the National Football League, and Nabi and Fatou never miss the game.

Last year also, they were seen in-game. Nabi and Fatou celebrated their son’s team winning against the Kansas City Chiefs, 38-35, over the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 12, 2023.

Lucas owes much of his achievement to his parents and always says, “I am so thankful for everyone that has helped me reach my goals,” Niang said. “I am especially grateful for my family, who has always been there and kept me grounded throughout this process.”

Lucas Niang’s younger brother, Ethan Niang, is making his mark in the football world as a guard for the Duke Blue Devils.

Currently in his junior year at Duke University, Ethan, part of the class of 2025, is following in the footsteps of his older brother Lucas.
