Mamadou N’Diaye | Early Life, Family & Education

Mamadou N’Diaye was born on September 14th, 1993, in Dakar, Senegal, to Mbad N’Diaye and Seynabou N’Diaye. 

Likewise, Mamadou is not the only child in the family as he has an older sibling named Adam.

Initially, Mamadou played soccer and started playing basketball much later.

In 2010, Amadou Koundoul, assistant coach for the UC Irvine’s basketball team, saw Mamadou play a pick-up game at Dakar and asked him to come to the United States.

Although Mamadou didn’t know how to speak English, he still accepted the offer and reached the US. Likewise, M’Diaye had trouble communicating in English, and for him to understand, things had to be translated to French.

After his second season with the UC Irvine’s Anteaters, CBSSports.com stated that he should play in the NBA Development League before joining the NBA.
