Easton’s father, Mike Stick, had a baseball background, having played at Creighton and spent a year in the Chicago Cubs organization.

Mike was recruited by the Frontier League in 1995, marking the beginning of his professional baseball career with the Johnstown Steal.

After a season with Johnstown, he was signed as a free agent by the Chicago Cubs organization.

Following his tenure in professional baseball, he transitioned into a new role as the owner and operator of See The Trainer in Bellevue, Nebraska.

See The Trainer is an orthopedic sports medicine facility focusing on supporting a diverse population through bracing and support products.

They were consistently present at his events and games, encouraging and cheering him on from the stands.

Easton Stick To Start For The Chargers

On Thursday night, Stick is set to make his first NFL start as the Chargers face the Las Vegas Raiders.

This marks a significant moment for Stick as he steps into the starting role, taking over from Justin Herbert.

The Chargers suffered a setback when their franchise quarterback, Herbert, sustained a broken finger, leading to his absence for the remainder of the season.

On Tuesday, Herbert underwent surgery on his broken right index finger and has been placed on injured reserve, sidelining him for the final four games of the regular season.

The Chargers drafted Stick in the fifth round of the 2019 draft after he won four national titles for the Bison.

Initially serving as the team’s third quarterback, Stick was promoted to the backup position this year.

His start on Thursday will make him the fourth player, alongside Herbert, Philip Rivers, and Tyrod Taylor, to take the quarterback position for the Chargers since the beginning of the 2006 season.

Stick reflected on his opportunity, saying, “Obviously, this isn’t how I envisioned it. When they selected me five years ago, this is what you want as a kid — an opportunity to go play. I’m excited for that.”
