The professional tennis player was born to his Serbian parents, Dragutin Kecmanovic and Maja Pavlov, in Belgrade, Serbia.

His parents both are pelvic surgeons; similarly, Miomir’s grandfather was a well-known doctor and medical school professor.

Miomir found a passion for tennis in the family with all doctors, which is quite unorthodox.

It was his maternal grandfather, Jovan Pavlov, who introduced him (then six years old) to tennis. Jovan enrolled his grandson in a tennis school at the Zlatibor ski mountain resort.

Mimoir’s grandfather, Jovan, was a general in the Yugoslav Army and moved to Serbia from Croatia with his daughters, Tanja and Maja.

Tanja has a Ph. D in psychology, and her working experience in two countries prepared her for the adventure with her nephew.

She also served as her young nephew’s manager, driver, cook, and entertainment director.

Miomir’s mother was an early coach, focusing on his mental discipline, while his father and grandfather were responsible for driving him to tournaments.

Similarly, his grandmother was in charge of his education.

All in all, the whole family played a part in shaping the career of the Serbian tennis player.
