NBA star Naz Reid has been making big headlines as he is on the verge of his contract ending with the Timberwolves. With his growing popularity, fans are curious to learn about Naz Reid brother, Rahim Reid.
Nazreon Hilton Reid, popular as Naz Reid, is a professional basketball player from the United States who represents the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA.
Reid has been playing basketball since eighth grade. The five-star recruit played basketball at Roselle Catholic High School.
Reid played collegiate basketball for LSU and was a McDonald’s All-American.
He is a big man and often appears to be a giant who fights mostly in the paint. But don’t judge a book by its cover, Reid shoots with a very good touch.
The player plays with strength, vigor, and emotion. In 2019 in the final year of his college, he declared for the 2019 NBA Draft while also conveying gratitude to LSU.
After going undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft, the player signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Naz Reid Brother Rahim Reid And Naz’s Lakers Rumor
Basketball player Naz Reid was born on August 26, 1999, to his parents, Anashia and Tahiem Reid, in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
He has two sisters named Toraya and Jakahya and a brother named Rahim Reid.
Reid’s siblings seem to be away from the media limelight. We could not find them on social media as well.
Even the basketball player has not posted any pictures with his family on his Instagram and other social media sites.
Lakers Interested In Naz
According to Lakers Daily, the Lakers are very interested in bringing Naz into their team.
Naz has been with the Timberwolves for the last four seasons. He has the kind of skill set the Lakers may utilize in the frontcourt if they want to upgrade their roster this coming offseason.
In this season’s playoffs, Mo Bamba‘s ankle injury made Wenyen Gabriel, who has a much weaker offensive game than Reid, the Lakers’ main backup option for Anthony Davis.
If the Lakers were to use bigger lineups occasionally in the 2023–24 season, Reid’s shooting skills might make him a possibility to play alongside Davis.
Reid had inked a four-year, $6 million deal with Minnesota after going undrafted in 2019. Since Reid is nearing the end of that deal, it would therefore make sense for the Timberwolves to desire to trade him before the deadline.
Naz Reid Injuries
Injury has not been a stranger to Reid’s career in the NBA.
Naz Reid sustained a left wrist injury at 8:36 in the fourth quarter of the game against the Phoenix Suns on March 29, 2023.
The injury required corrective surgery, which was successfully performed on April 5, 2023.
Reid’s injury couldn’t have come at a worse time. He had been performing exceptionally well, averaging 18.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.0 steals-plus-blocks with 57/37/76 shooting splits over his last eight appearances before breaking his wrist.
Shortly before this, he had a calf strain, due to which he could not attend his matches. This happened on the 19th of March, 2023.
Despite all these injuries, Naz performed well this season. As we eagerly anticipate his placement in a new team, we wholeheartedly wish for him to excel, regardless of which team selects him.
