He made his professional debut on November 3, 2012, at 21. Moreover, in 2013, Oscar fought six times at super featherweight and won all the bouts.

Featherweight Division 

Oscar returned to the featherweight division for the first time after nine fights on July 26.

He claimed the vacant NABF Junior featherweight title in an eight-round unanimous decision win against Juan Ruiz. 

Moreover, Oscar secured a defense of the NABF Junior super featherweight title in November against another Mexican boxer Alberto Garza.

He retained the title through a technical knockout during round seven. Likewise, Oscar fought more than five times from the end of 2014 to December 2015.

Third Title Defense

In July 2017, Oscar made the third defense of his WBO title. His manager Frank Espinoza stated that he was back in training.

It was reported that he would be fighting Genesis Servania, an unbeaten Filipino boxer at the Tucson Convention Center, co-featuring Gilberto Ramírez.

Moreover, Oscar stated that he would like to join the division and fight Abner Mares and Leo Santa Cruz, likely to occur in 2017.

The fight occurred in front of a crowd of 4,103, where Oscar recovered from a knockdown and added a knockdown of his own.

While weighing Quigg overweighed by three pounds, the California State Athletic Commission fined him 20% off his $100,000. Oscar received half of the fine money.

The fight was a 12-round match, where Oscar broke Scott’s nose, and as a result, his front teeth were damaged.

Change in Trainer

An announcement on August 13, 2018, stated that Oscar has left his longtime trainer Manny Robles and will be training under Eddy Reynoso. The latter is famously known for training Canelo Alvarez.
