The 2019 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee Retief Goosen and his wife, Tracy Goosen, have been married for 23 years.

Throughout Goosen’s golf career, his spouse, Tracy, has remained a significant part of his success. Besides being significant halves, they are parents of two kids, a son Leo, and a daughter, Ella.

Retief Goosen, a South African professional golfer, has been playing professionally since 1990.

He currently competes in the PGA Tour Champions, a senior golf tour, having formally competed in the PGA Tour and European Tours.

He won the US Open twice (in 2001 & 2004), against Mark Brooks and Phil Mickelson, respectively.

Goosen totals 34 professional wins including seven PGA Tour wins and 17 European Tour wins.

In more than three decades of his golfing journey, Goosen has played and won against the likes of Tiger Woods, Jesper Parnevik, Vijay Singh, Brandt Jobe, and Charles Howell III.

His highest ranking was #3 on January 15, 2006. Between 2001 and 2007, he was in the top ten of the world rankings for over 250 weeks.

Tracy Goosen is from the UK and was born in 1985. As of 2024, she is 39 years old.

She is 16 years junior to her golfer husband, Retief, born on February 3, 1969, which makes him 55 now.

The two-time Valspar Champion’s wife, Tracy, prefers to live a low-key these days. But it won’t change the fact that she is equally supportive of her beau’s career like before.

Together, the couple is the parents of two children, son Leo James Goosen (b. March 8, 2003) and daughter Ella Ann Goosen (b. November 18, 2004). His kids are now 21 and 19, respectively.

Retief’s son, Leo, an alum of Lake Highland Preparatory School, is following his father’s footsteps in golf.

The father-son duo competed in the PNC Championship (aka Father/Son Challenge) in 2019. They tied the runner-up position with golfer Tom Lehman and his son Thomas Lehman, while Bernhard Langer and his son Jason Langer won the title.

Goosen often posts pictures of his son, Leo, on his Instagram where he joins his father on the golf course & the PNC Championship.

Nothing much on the professional venture of Retief’s daughter is out. She is active on Instagram under the IG handle (@ella.goosen). She is a 2023 graduate of Windermere Preparatory School.

Retief Goosen Was Struck By Lightening

Nicknamed “The Iceman” and “The Goose”, Retief was struck by lightning in 1985 when he was a teenager.

It was only four days shy of his 16th birthday as he waited out the rainstorm and went to the course for golfing when the incident happened at Pietersburg Golf Club.

His friend, Henri Potgieter, who was walking 20 yards ahead got knocked on the ground, while Goosen was ‘smoking, no clothes, burned black from head to tail.’ Luckily, a doctor was present on the golf course when Potgieter went asking for help.

Three weeks after that lightning incident, he was back on the golf course. He’s not looked back ever since.

Retief’s dedication and natural-born talent in golfing got him immense success in his later days including two US Open wins.

According to Spotrac, his official career earnings are $33.664 million; it is inclusive of $31.301 million from official tournaments & $2.363 million from unofficial tournaments.

He & his wife own several properties in South Africa, Virginia Water, Surrey, and Orlando. He owns a vineyard in Garden Route, South Africa, where he produces his wine The Goose.
