But fans were also anticipating the moves he could bring, given that he had a 90% win via K.O. in his undisputed past bouts.

Magomedov, a Russian-born MMA fighter, made it to the octagon, having dominated Russian, Chinese, and Thailand regional circuits for many years.

After six years of turning professional, Shara made his UFC debut on October 21, 2023, at the UFC 294, and won via U.D. against Brazilian fighter Bruno Silvia.

The main card was Islam Makhachev vs. Alexander Volkanovski for the lightweight title, and the co-main event was Khamazat Chimaev vs. Kamaru Usman.

Out of his 12-0 fighting record, the Dagestrian fighter has won 10 matches via knockout; no wonder the UFC would take Shara as its notable prospect.

His spectacular wins were an 8-second K.O. to Kushal Vyas at TFC 10 and a 13-second (Round  2) K.O. via hook kick to Joel dos Santos at AMC- Fight Nights 106.

Only two MMA fighters against him, Mikhail Ragozin and Bruno Silvia, avoided the K.O. but lost unanimously.

He made his professional debut as a fighter in CWM MMA on December 10, 2017, with a win over Yincang Bao via TKO.

Throughout the years until his octagon debut 2023, he fought in Russian and Thailand promotions with an undisputed 11-0 record. It turned 12-0 after his victory at the UFC 294.

Still, the Russian fighter is yet to have a Wikipedia page. With such promising fighting style and agility, that day is not so far.

Shara thrives to become a force reckoned with in the MMA world like his fellow Russian fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Many assumed that he and Khabib were related, but the only common thing in them was their hunger for victory and their home country.

What Happened To Magomedov’s Eye? Is He Blind In One Eye?

While the aggressive fighting style and lethal blows of “Shara Bullet” have been his traits, fans can’t help but notice something unusual about his eye.

Shara Magomedov is blind in his right eye.

During one of his training sessions in Thailand, the UFC middleweight division fighter had to pay the price with one eye.

During an interview with Athletistic in September 2022, Magomedov opened up about the injury in his eye. Also, he talked about the financial and emotional toll it took on him.

He reportedly had eight surgeries on his eye to restore the vision, but all in vain. As a result, it had to be replaced with a fake eye.

The MMA fighter reported remained away from the ring for two years under the care of his supportive parents.

After the surgery, he contemplated quitting the MMA career, but his loved ones’ support gave him courage. He said,

“But after that, I collected my thoughts. My friends believed in me, and everything was fine.”

In late 2022, he signed with the UFC, and many were curious if his physical disadvantage could hinder him.

But on the contrary, his full-potential display of a lethal fighter and his victory in his UFC debut shut the criticizing mouths.

Controveries Of Shara Magomedov

While his bouts are one thing that MMA fans cherish, his dismannerly conduct is yet another topic of discussion.

In June 2022, Shara found himself in hot water after he punched a man unconscious in a mall in Makhachkala.

As seen in video footage, that man was kissing his girlfriend, which upset Magomedov, and he confronted him. The bad blood didn’t end there, as the MMA fighter later sucker-punched him.

While admitting his actions as out of order, he also insisted that the public display of affection was against a moral code in the town.

Another of his controversies came in May 2023 during an ADCC Thailand tournament.

As Shara was in a leg hold, he seemingly made a gesture of tapping, and when his opponent let go of his leg, he heel-kicked him and approached him to attack.
