In 2014, the North Carolina-raised basketball player declared for the NBA draft forgoing his final two years of college eligibility.

He became the first-round pick (14th overall) of the Phoenix Suns in the 2014 NBA Draft, where the top-three picks were Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker & Joel Embiid.

During his five NBA seasons with the Suns (2014-15 season to 2018-19 season), T.J. Warren started in 165 games (out of 261), with 14.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game while maintaining a 0.497 field goal percentage.

As a part of three-team trade (Pacers, Suns & Miami Heat), T.J. was traded to Indiana Pacers on July 6, 2019. As a Pacers player, he started in all of 67 games in the 2019 season.
