But after Prince’s grandma died of cancer, the father-son duo became homeless & spent months sleeping at the Salvation Army in San Angelo, but ‘never told his mom about that.’

Later, Taurean Prince would return to his mother.

But Prince didn’t start playing high school basketball until his sophomore year.
As reported, John Collins, the San Antonio Legends coach, saw him playing & tried to dig out his potential. Taurean would excel in basketball & led his school to the state semi-finals.
Prince committed to play collegiate basketball for the LIU- Brooklyn Blackbirds, but he later switched to Baylor after the LIU coach left for Duquesne.
In his sophomore year at Baylor, Taurean played in the championship of the Big 12 Tournament but lost to Iowa State.

Arrest & Drop Of The Charges
Taurean Prince was arrested on August 25, 2022, at Miami International Airport for an out-of-state fugitive warrant from a traffic pullover incident in May 2022.
Police pulled Prince over for a traffic stop initially due to an expired registration, but during the search, they discovered two firearms, a THC vape pen, and a marijuana canister.
According to Arlington Police, it took three months for the vape pen’s test results, which delayed the warrant procedure.
However, on November 2022, the charges against Taurean Prince were dropped.
Prince’s attorney, Kent Schaffer, stated, “The charges were dropped because the search was clearly illegal. On top of that, carrying a gun is legal in Texas, if not encouraged, and the amount of marijuana alleged to be in the vehicle was probably less than a usable quantity.”
