The USWNT head coach Vlatko Andonovski has been married to his wife, Biljana Andonovski, for a long time. The North Macedonian-born American soccer coach came to the US around 2000 to play in the National Professional Soccer League and never returned.
He eventually became a naturalized US citizen in 2015. However, his children were eligible to get it earlier as they all are born in the United States.
Vlatko Andonovski rightly believes he has a great family life, despite being very busy.
He also does not shy away from thanking his wife, Biljana, because she is his biggest motivator and the reason behind his success.
Born in the former USSR, Vlatko Andonovski began playing soccer when he was nine.
Consequently, he had opportunities to play for various European clubs, including FK Vardar and Makedonija GP of the Macedonian Football League. However, he never made it to his national team squad.
In 2000, he signed with the Wichita Wings of the National Professional Soccer League in the United States.
Continuing his indoor soccer league, Andonovski played for different clubs until 2015.
While he was still a player for the Missouri Comets, he began serving as their assistant head coach. He finally became the USWNT head coach in 2019.
Vlatko Andonovski Wife Biljana Is His Biggest Motivator
Vlatko Andonovski and his wife Biljana have been married to each other for over twenty years now.
Although she is of Macedonian origin like himself, the two have been living in the United States for a long time now and are both US citizens.
One might say Andonovski’s first love is football, and perhaps, it is true. He is so engrossed in his duty that he does not have enough time to spend with his family.
Andonovski often works 18 hours daily making strategies, analyzing games, and coaching his students.
During weekends when he has no busy work schedule, Vlatko returns to his Kansas City home and takes his family out for dinner.
Aside from that, he admits that he does not get much time to be with his family.
Thankfully, he has an understanding wife who manages his family affairs well while he mostly remains away from home.
His wife has managed for him a small room in their Kansas house, from where he makes conference calls. The room, as it can be seen, is decorated with motivational signs.
The couple has three daughters: Dragana, Luka, and Daria. Despite the rare presence of their dad in their lives, Biljana has done a great job raising them.
They all share their dad’s love for the game, and Biljana is happy they followed in their father’s footsteps.
Vlatko’s Eldest Daughter, Dragana Is A Collegiate Football Player
Vlatko Andonovki’s eldest daughter, Dragana, plays collegiate football for Park University’s women’s football team.
She was born to Vlato and Biljana on May 12, 2002, in Wichita, Kansas.
Learning from her dad, she began playing soccer at a young age and began playing as a midfielder for Park Hill High School nearby her residence in Missouri.
After graduating, she enrolled in Missouri State University, where she played soccer and pursued a Biology and Chemistry degree.
A year later, she transferred to Park University to get closer to her home and friends.
Moreover, Vlatko Andonovski also attended the same University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business management in 2008.
