In February 2015, Bochy underwent angioplasty. Two stents were inserted into his blood vessel, which had 90 percent blockage.
In 2016, Bochy was once more hospitalized due to an irregular heartbeat and had a cardioversion procedure, resulting in his absence from a game.
Later, he underwent a minor heart ablation after a discomfort. After the game season, he again underwent an ablation procedure.
Apart from heart, Bruce also underwent back surgery, two hip replacements, and a knee replacement.
