As we know, DeMarcus has been actively playing since his early days in the LeFlore Magnet High School. He has also played for the first-team Parade All-American and the 2009 McDonald’s All-American Boys Game. 

After Cousins went to the University of Kentucky, he averaged 15.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game.

Likewise, as expected, Cousins entered the 2010 NFL Draft, where the Sacramento Kings picked him fifth.

This led Cuz to sign a rookie contract with the Kings for two years. In the NBA Summer League, Boogie was even named Rookie of the Month for July 2010. 

Sadly the Kings suspended Cousins for the two games on November 11, 2012. The following month, the Kings fired Cuz after he showered his team members with unprofessional behavior. 

Cousins and suspension were synonyms with each other as again he was suspended for punching Patrick Beverley in the stomach back in 2014.

However, Boogie never let his game dwindle in the court and always gave his all. Because of it, Cuz became the first Kings player to record back-to-back triple-doubles after playing against New Orleans Pelicans on April 3, 2015.

In the season-opening of 2014-15, Cousins recorded 32 points, 13 rebounds against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Injury and Clippers Contract

After DeMarcus suffered from an Achilles injury, he missed few games of the season. But after returning from the injury, he recorded 21 points, 12 rebounds with a loss against San Antonio Spurs

Likewise, he has also been named Western Conference Player of the Week for the second time. Moreover, he broke Chris Webber’s franchise record of 51 points after scoring 56 points.

In the final season with the Kings, DeMarcus became the Kings team’s first career double-doubles leader with 246 points.

Later, DeMarcus, along with Omri Casspi, was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans on February 20, 2017, and debuted against Houston Rockets. He also played for the Warriors, Lakers, and Rockets before finally ending up with the Clippers. 

When the Rockets waived Cousins, he signed a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers on April 5, 2021. Upon completion of 10 days contract, he again signed for ten more days and then for the whole season, i.e., 2021-2022.
