Joshua Giddey, aka Josh Giddey, was born on October 10, 2002, to his father, Warrick Giddey, and mother, Kim Giddey, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

His father, Warrick, is a former professional basketball player who played in the NBL from 1987 to 2002. During his NBL journey, he played for the Melbourne Tigers and Illawarra Hawks.

Warrick didn’t get to fulfill his dream to play in the NBA, but playing for the Tigers in NBL, he won two championships.

Similarly, his mother, Kim, played professional basketball for the Tigers in the Women’s National Basketball League.

Besides, the professional basketball player has three sisters; Hannah, Neve, and Ella.

His elder sister, Hannah, was born on June 12, 2001, and she plays for Southern Nazarene University’s women’s basketball team.

Hannah, along with the team, won the 2023 Great American Conference championship. She also earned the Tournament MVP award for her impressive performance.

Giddey’s other two sister are younger than him; Neve (born in May 2005) and Elle (born on Feb 28, 2008).

Neve Giddey also played basketball with the Melbourne Tigers and won the 2022 U-18 Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) Championship.

Girlfriend

Josh Giddey’s relationship is one of the major topics of discussion on the internet. The Thunder’s point guard doesn’t seem to be involved in a romantic relationship with anyone.

However, there were rumors of him being linked to Kylie Jenner before the 2021 NBA draft.

This rumor quickly surfaced on the internet. However, Jenner later clarified that Giddey was one of her favorite players but nothing more than that.

NBA Journey

Josh signed with the NBL’s Adelaide 36ers on March 12, 2020, turning down offers from several NCAA Division I programs, including Arizona.

He became the youngest Australian in NBL history to record a triple-double, with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, in a 93-77 loss to the New Zealand Breakers.

Giddey declared for the 2021 NBA draft on April 27, 2021, and the Thunder selected him with the 6th overall pick.

With the Thunders, he was named the NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month. The Australian player also became the youngest ever player to record a triple-double, surpassing LaMelo Ball.

On January 10, 2023, Giddey joined Luka Doncic, Ben Simmons, and Grant Hill to record at least 1,000 points, 700 rebounds, and 500 assists in their first 100 career games.

Besides, he has represented Australia at the 2019 FIBA U-17 Oceania Championship. He was also part of the senior team at the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualification and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
