The former basketball player and current member of the ACE Golf Club, Dorell Wright’s brother, Delon Wright, also plays in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Washington Wizards.

Dorell Wright began his NBA career with the Miami Heat and has since played in 549 games, according to ESPN.

He entered the professional league right out of high school. 

After being selected by the Miami Heat in the NBA Draft in 2004, Wright made his NBA debut against the Chicago Bulls on February 5, 2005.

On July 12, 2010, Dorell transferred to the Golden State Warriors, where he played for two seasons. 

Wright joined the Philadelphia 76ers on July 11, 2012, then on July 10, 2013, he departed the 76ers to join the Portland Trail Blazers. 

In addition, Dorell Wright made a second appearance for the Heat on April 12, 2016. 

The small forward also represented teams from across the globe, including Brose Bramberg in Germany, Lokomotiv Kuban in Russia, and Beikong Fly Dragons in China. 

He officially retired from the league on November 18, 2020, after spending 16 years in the NBA.

He started his basketball journey in college when he joined the Utah Utes men’s basketball team. 

Wright created history during his time there by being selected to the inaugural All-Pac 12 team in back-to-back seasons (2014 and 2015).

The Toronto Raptors chose him in the 2015 NBA Draft after making an impression while in college.

During his rookie year with the Raptors, he managed to win the Bob Cousy Award in 2015.

Delon has also played for other teams in the NBA.

On February 7, 2019, he was acquired by the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Marc Gasol

After that, the Dallas Mavericks made a significant move on July 8, 2019, when they signed the point guard to join their team. 

In addition, he has played for Detroit Pistons (2020 – 2021), Sacramento Kings (2021), Atlanta Hawks (2021 – 2022), and Washington Wizards. 

On July 6, 2022, Delon agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with the Washington franchise.

Dorell and Delon faced off each other when Miami Heat faced the Toronto Raptors on May 15, 2016. 

It was in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and the two brothers came one on one countless times throughout the match. 

Additionally, it was Delon’s Raptors who won the match by 116 -89.

Dorell Wright, born on December 2, 1985, is the older brother of Delon Wright, who was born on April 16, 1992.

Both were born to Ray and Stacy Wright in Los Angeles, California. However, their parents lead private lives, and Delon has not revealed their names publicly.
