Detroit Red Wings drafted Ericsson as 291st overall in the ninth round during the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL game debut on February 22, 2008.

In February of 2016-17, Ericsson suffered a season-ending wrist injury. 

16. Miles Wood

  • Age: 28 Years Old 

Miles Wood is an American player and an alternate captain for the NHL’s New Jersey Devils.

The Devils drafted him in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Wood made his NHL debut on April 9, 2016, against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

15. Brendan Smith

Number 15 of the hottest ice hockey players on our list is Canadian player Brendan Smith. He plays for the NHL franchise, New Jersey Devils.

Detroit Red Wings selected Smith 27th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, making his NHL debut on November 17, 2011.

He has also played for other NHL franchises: New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes.

14. Jonathan Bernier

Dumoulin played ice hockey during his high school and collegiate year. Carolina Hurricanes drafted him in the second round of the 51st overall at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hurricanes traded Dumoulin to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and he made his NHL debut with the Penguins. He missed part of the 2021-22 lineup due to a lower-body injury.

12. Kris Letang

Kris Letang is a professional ice hockey player, an alternate captain for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and our 12th-hottest ice hockey player.

The Penguins drafted him 62nd overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Letang played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before the NHL draft. In 2009, in his second season in NHL, he won the Stanley Cup with the franchise.

Similarly, he won two more Stanley Cups with the Penguins in 2016 and 2017.

11. Jamie Benn

Jame is a Canadian professional ice hockey player and captain of the NHL team Dallas Stars.

The Stars drafted him 129th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, and he made his NHL debut in 2009.

Before turning professional, Benn played junior hockey and won his home country team gold at the 2009 World Junior Championships.

In the 2014-15 season, Benn was the league’s leading scorer and thus awarded the Art Ross Trophy. He has also played for Hamburg Freezers, German professional men’s hockey team. 

10. Darcy Kuemper

Minnesota Wild drafted the Canadian player in the sixth round as the 161st overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

9. Patrick Kane

Karlsson spent his first nine seasons with the Senators and was then traded to the San Jose Sharks.

In 2012 and 2015, he won James Norris Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s best defenseman.

5. Tyler Seguin

Famous as one of the best goaltenders in the world, Carey Price is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender. He plays for the Montreal Canadiens.

Price began his junior career with Western Hockey League in 2002. The Canadiens drafted him fifth overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

In 2015, Price became the first goaltender in NHL history to win the Ted Lindsay, Jennings, Vezina, and Hart trophies, all in the same season.

3. Ian McCoshen

  • Age: 28 Years Old 

On number 3, we have the American professional ice hockey player Ian McCoshen. Florida Panthers drafted McCoshen in the second round as the 31st overall of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Since his NHL debut, he has also played for Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild.

He made his NHL debut in the 2007-08 season and was nominated in the Calder Memorial Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year.
