Jrue Holiday is one of the four kids of former basketball professionals Shawn Holiday and Toya Holiday.

The brilliant basketball player Jrue Holiday was born in Los Angeles on June 12, 1990. 

Holiday grew up in Los Angeles, California, and has been blessed with three siblings, Justin, Aaron, and Lauren Holiday. It’s a coincidence that his sister’s name matches his wife’s.

College Career

In 2008-2009, Holiday played with Darren Collision (future NBA player) at UCLA.

After his sophomore year at UCLA, he declared for the NBA Draft, forgoing his final three years of college eligibility.

Philadelphia 76ers

Jrue Holiday was drafted in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 17th overall pick.

He recorded his first triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists against the Nets on November 5, 2010.

He was appointed as a reserve for the Eastern Conference All-Star team for the 2013 NBA All-Star Game.

The 22-year-old Jrue Holiday became the youngest player in the franchise’s history to be named All-Star.

New Orleans Pelicans

Holiday was traded to New Orleans Pelicans for Nerlens Noel and the Pelicans’ 2014 first-round draft pick in July 2013. 

He reached the 5,000 career points mark in January 2015 while playing against the Wizards.

On February 18, he was ruled out for three weeks after aggravating an already injured lower right leg.

He made a comeback to action much later than expected, coming off the bench against the Suns on April 10 after missing 41 games.

Similarly, on March 29, he was ruled out for the rest of the season after being diagnosed with a right interior orbital wall fracture.

On November 18, 2016, Holiday made his season debut after missing the first 12 games while he was on leave to take care of his wife.

Jrue Holiday was traded to Milwaukee Bucks in a four-team trade, including Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets. 

He scored 15 points in 23 minutes of action and hit the victory with an 11-foot jump shot in a match against the Grizzlies in March 2021.

On his way to an NBA First Team All-Defense selection, Jrue averaged a team-high 1.63 steals per game for the Bucks, which was fifth-best in the league.

Moreover, he made multiple steals in around 32 games, the second-most highest score of any basketball player over the season.

In Game 6 of the Conference Finals against the Hawks, Holiday dropped 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists in a 118–107 win, leading Milwaukee to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1974.

Holiday scored 27 points, 13 assists, and four rebounds in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns.

Similarly, he recorded 12 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds to help the Bucks gain victory over the Suns and win the 2021 NBA Championship.

The man is still with the Bucks, and his gameplay has only improved. On February 14, 2023, Jrue tied a career-high 40 points, with a career-high eight three-point shots made, during a 131–125 overtime win against the Celtics.
