The Canadian professional baseball pitcher, Nicholas John Carlo Pivetta, most commonly known as Nick Pivetta, was born on Valentine’s Day (February 14) in the year 1993, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

His mother’s name is Carolyn Gregg; however, his father’s name and whether he has any siblings or not is unknown.

Moving on, Nick attended Lambrick Park Secondary School in his hometown, British Columbia, and played school baseball during his junior year.

Nick Pivetta played school baseball at Lambrick Park Secondary School. As a Canadian Junior National Team member, he was also the pitcher in the 2010 Under-18 World Championship.

Washington Nationals

In 2013, Pivetta was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the fourth round of the 2013 MLB draft.

During the selection, he was attending the New Mexico Junior College. Besides, he agreed to play for the Washington Nationals for $364,300.

However, Nick Pivetta did not play directly in the Major Leagues. First, he made his professional debut in a minor league game with a Gulf Coast League and an affiliate team of the Nationals, the Gulf Coast Nationals. 

Later, at the end of the season, he was promoted to play for the Class-A New York -Pennsylvania League team and an affiliate team of Washington Nationals, the Auburn Doubledays.

Philadelphia Phillies

2015–2016

The Washington Nationals traded Nick Pivetta to the Philadelphia Phillies on July 28, 2015, in exchange for Jonathan Papelbon.

In the 2016 season, Pivetta played for Double-A affiliate team, Reading Phillies, and recorded 11 wins, where his wins were 3rd in the league. Likewise, he recorded a 3.41 ERA and 111 strikeouts, where both were 6th in the league.

In addition, Pivetta was an Eastern League mid-season All-Star while playing for the Reading Phillies. Also, he played for another Triple-A affiliate team of the Philadelphia Phillies, Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.

2017

Nick began the 2017 season with the Iron Pigs and received the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week award for the midweek in April.

Furthermore, on April 30, the Phillies promoted him to the 25-man roster and Nick made his Major League debut the same day against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

2018

In 2018, Pivetta kept his position in the fifth rank in the National League, recording a 4.77 ERA and 10.32 strikeouts-per-9-innings-pitched, which was the 2nd-highest rate of any Phillies pitcher since 1997.
