Patrick McCaw| Early Life, Family & Education

Starting with basics, Patrick McCaw was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Jeffery McCaw Sr. and Teresa McCaw.

In addition, Patrick was born into a Catholic family and had his early education at Christian Brothers College High School. Later, he was sent to Montrose Christian School.

McCaw’s parents, Jeffrey and Teresa, married in Las Vegas, and it appears they were both admirers of Runnin’ Rebel.

Patrick attended Christian Brother College High School during his early years of education. Later, he graduated from Montrose Christian High School in the year 2014.

During his sophomore season, McCaw had 14.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.45 steals in 33.7 minutes. In the game, he was ranked second in steals.

During his offseason, he changed his jersey number from 2 to 22, as his Father wore the same number of jerseys in his college days.

He headed his team in scoring three games and rebounding with two.

First Ring with Golden State Warriors

Being hired by Milwaukee Bucks with the 38th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft on June 23, 2016, was his first-ever start of success in his career.

Later, he was traded to the Golden State Warriors for cash consideration on the night of his draft season.

Moreover, he signed with the Warriors for the 2016 NBA summer with the hope of winning his team on July 16, 2016.

He played his first debut for the Warriors against the San Antonio Spurs on October 25, 2016.

On the other hand, McCaw recorded two points, two-assist, one steal, and one block in a 129-100 loss in the nine minutes off the bench.

Patrick scored his career-high 10 points in 106-99 against the Utah Jazz and played well for the Warriors. He got signed by the Santa Cruz Warriors a month later, on December 29.

In addition, Golden State recalled Patrick after the day of signing with Santa Cruz.

He played against the Miami Heat and contributed one three-pointer in a 107-95 win, making his career first start in replacing Klay Thompson.

Patrick again signed with Santa Cruz and played as a replacement in the team. He averaged 19 points in 132-110 against the Denver Nuggets.

Again playing as a replacement for Kevin Durant, his team won 110-81 against Portland Trailblazers. He averaged 9 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 119-113 wins.

Against the San Antonia Spurs, McCaw notched 18 points, five assists, three rebounds, and three steals in 136-110 wins in the finals of the Western Conference. 

He played against the Spurs for the fourth time, scoring 6 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a plus-12 in a 129-115 victory.

Second Championship 

Likewise, playing against the Sacramento Kings in the replacement of Stephen Curry, Patrick scored the season’s best 16 points with the best career-high of 7 assists and four steals in a 110-106 win on November 27, 2017.

After a dangerous landing following an undercut by Vince Carter, McCaw departed late in the third quarter of the Warriors’ 112–96 win over the Kings.

McCaw got injured in a play hit in his lower body and was taken to UC Davis Medical Center for a checkup. The next day he got discharged with a bruised lumbar spine.

After his recovery, he went to play against the Houston Rockets for Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals.

In their play against the Rockets in the hope of getting into the NBA finals, the team went for Game 7. Winning the second Championship with a four-game sweep was a victory for the team.

Patrick McCaw became a restricted agent after the 2017-2018 seasons and declined the qualifying offer of the Warriors. He remained a free agent for six months.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Patrick signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers as the Warriors continuously declined to meet the offer.

He appeared in three games after signing with the Cavaliers on December 30, 2018.

Patrick notched 4 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 57 games in his second NBA. He was out for two months at the end of the season due to a lower back issue.

Toronto Raptors

McCaw signed with the Toronto Raptors, where the team offered McCaw to play against the Golden State Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals.

Due to an injury to his left knee, McCaw underwent arthroscopic surgery. The Raptors waived Patrick on April 9, 2021.
