On October 13, 2008, Patrik scored his first NHL goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs. After that, Berglund became a star alongside his teammate T.J. Oshie in St. Louis’ 2008-09 session in Missouri.

However, Berglund was not very satisfied with the trade. He had tried to block the trade, but his agent at the time failed to submit the documentation by the deadline.
