Caster Semenya is a renowned South African middle-distance runner and 2016 Olympic gold medalist too. She has received gold in the women’s 800 meters during the 2009 World Championships. She has also won the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2017 World Championships that made her more popular.

Talking about her childhood, she was born as a female, raised as a female, and identifies as a woman. As she grew up, she holds XY chromosomes and exceptionally high testosterone levels due to an intersex condition. She got a victory at the 2009 World Championships, and just after that, she has been subjected to sex testing. In 2019, she was tightened with the new IAAF rules that came into force, preventing women like her from participating in 400m, 800m, and 1500m events as they take medication to minimize her testosterone levels.
