The Detroit Red Wings signed him to a three-year, entry-level contract on October 2, 2015. He scored 32 goals and 47 assists in 50 games during the 2015-16 season.
His 79 points ranked second on the Detroit Red Wings and tied for 18th in the QMJHL. The 47 assists recorded by him were also placed at 17th, and his 13 power-play goals stood at 8th.
