Sean Kuraly – Early Life, Family & Education

In Dublin, Ohio, Sean Kuraly was born to his parents, Rick Kuraly and Jane Kuraly, on January 20, 1993. Furthermore, Rick was a star hockey player during his college days at the same university his son attended, Miami University.

In fact, Sean’s old man is the all-time leading goal-scorer and the third-highest points scorer in the Miami Redhawks‘ history.

Aside from that, the 6 feet 2 inches centre grew up with his two brothers, Nick Kuraly and Chris Kuraly. Interestingly, both Nick and Sean play for the same franchise, the Boston Bruins.

Kurlay went to Cathedral Catholic High School, where he even earned Honor Roll.

The Ohio native played in the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament and the United States Hockey League (USHL) before college.

Likewise, Sean’s performances were so impressive during his rookie USHL season that he got drafted into the NHL in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft as an 18-year-old.

To emphasize, Kuraly won the NCHC Defensive Forward of the Year and NCHC Academic All-Conference Team in the 2015-16 season.
