His father, Ranford, was the head coach of the soccer team of Baruch College from 2003 to 2017.

The Bearcats appointed Ranford as the men’s soccer coach on December 15, 2003. Before joining as the soccer coach, he was the access supervisor at Verizon.

Ranford attended high school at Campion College in Jamaica, West Indies. He then finished college at St. John’s University in 1999 and majored in marketing research.

During his time in college, Ranford also played soccer and led the team to the 1996 NCAA Division I National Championship.
